What are cookies, scripts, logs, i-frames, plugins, captchas, trackers, pixels and fingerprinting?

Scripts: a series of commands that perform a task on the website, e.g. to save and edit data from a form on our server; your web browser may block certain scripts.

I-frames: a field we use to display external content on the website, e.g. videos from Vimeo and YouTube
Captchas: response tests that check whether a human or a computer program is visiting your website. This is to prevent computer programs from abusing the forms on the website.
Trackers: technology that tracks your online behaviour between websites, such as which websites you visit, what actions you take and what information you have entered on these websites, for example your bank card usage, your search terms or the content of your social media profiles, which can then be used to infer personality traits. Examples of trackers include certain cookies, pixels and fingerprinting.
Pixels: small invisible images that allow us to collect certain information about website usage, such as the number of users visiting a particular page.
Digital fingerprint: technique that combines various data about your device to recognise you as a unique user. The digital fingerprint is used to prevent fraud and abuse of the website, as well as to create a profile of you.
How can you refuse or manage the use of cookies?
Some cookies are necessary for the website to work or to provide you with an online service. You cannot refuse these cookies. We ask your consent for the other cookies.
